About the BushTelephone+ Network

We wish to take this opportunity to introduce you to the Bushphone Plus+ HF Radio Telephone Network.  This Network has been designed to offer you, the remote area traveller, the best available coverage throughout Australia. This service gives you the ability to make telephone calls using your HF Radio.  To achieve this, we have established bases in very quiet locations at Perth, Alice Springs, Woomera, Melbourne, Cowra, Charters Towers and Brisbane. 

 Nine frequencies in the range 3.7 to 15.9 MHz are licensed to Radiodata and most bases are equipped with six.  All frequencies are reserved for HF Telephone Interconnection only.  The use of multiple bases and a wide range of frequencies allows us to offer you a far more reliable service.

The Bushphone Plus+ Network is a direct dial service utilising the telcall format.  The following radios are amongst those that can be used on this network:

We are currently working on upgrading our phone system at Cowra base with the latest technology Codan Interconnect. This will provide a greatly improved service with the following features -:

• Improved voice quality
• No more recorded messages
• Will soon have the option of being able to ring from telephone to HF radio

The new ID for the Cowra No 2 base will be 0206

The frequencies will be the same as Cowra No 1 base, which will still be operating.
We will be updating some of the other bases in the near future.

$1.15 for connection and 60c per minute for calls to normal phone. + GST
$1.15 for connection and $1.15 per minute for calls to mobile. + GST
